Next week is the last week of school, and we have lots of exciting things planned! Please read below to see what we’ll be doing and what your child will need to do at home to be prepared to have tons of fun!
Monday, May 20th- Book Character Day Please have your child come to school dressed as a favorite book character. Make sure your child brings the book to hold as we walk through the book character parade. We will also use this day to celebrate the progress we’ve made as readers. Your child will need to bring 5 favorite books from home. Make sure to put your child’s name in the books. We will use these books for independent reading and partner reading throughout the day. Tuesday, May 21st- Game Day Your child is invited to bring a favorite board game or card game from home. We will spend our day playing games with our classmates. Be sure to write your child’s name on their game. Wednesday, May 22nd- Celebration of Learning Please join us at 10:30 to celebrate our amazing year in first grade. A picnic lunch on the hardtop will follow so be sure to bring a blanket or chairs. We also ask that all students wear their field day shirt on this day. Thursday, May 23rd- Last Day of School Wow! We made it to summer! Your child does not need to bring their binder to school on this day. We will celebrate our awesome behavior with a cookie party, and enjoy spending time with our classmates. We have had the incubators in our rooms for a few weeks. The eggs arrived about 3 weeks ago and have been growing for 21 days.
